What is a programmable thermostat?
A programmable room thermostat is, at the same time, a programming device and a room thermostat. A programming device allows you to set the intervals in which the system is switched on or off depending on your own lifestyle. A room thermostat works by detecting the air temperature, starting the heating when the air temperature drops below the set temperature and shutting down the system when the set temperature is reached.
Therefore, a programmable room thermostat allows you to choose the times at which heating is to be started, as well as the temperature to be reached. It will allow you to select different room temperatures at different times of the day (and at different times of the week) according to your own needs.
Increasing the set temperature of a programmable thermostat will not cause the room to warm up faster. The rapidity of heating the room depends on the heating system, for example the size of the boiler and radiators.
